Work package WP1 – Strengthening Regional TB and HIV Clinical Trial Capacity I

This WP aims to strengthen regional capacity for TB and HIV clinical research in Eastern and Central Africa by focusing on four integrated pillars: (1) multi-country clinical trial capacity expansion, (2) enhanced HIV and TB AMR surveillance and diagnostics innovation, (3) gender-inclusive human capital development, and (4) the application of digital, machine learning and models for predicting HIV and TB drug resistance, and behavioral innovations for improved adherence and youth engagement in HIV prevention and treatment. The initiative builds upon the existing EACCR3 infrastructure and expands activities to Zambia and underserved countries such as Somalia and the DRC, in alignment with EDCTP3’s priorities.

General Objective
