COVID-19 Uganda Update

Today the 24th of April 2020, one (1) new case was confirmed for COVID-19 out of the 1,116 samples tested at the Uganda Virus Research Research Institute from truck drivers at the different boarderposts. This confirmed new COVID-19 case is of a 43-year-old Ugandan truck driver who arrived from Kenya via the Malaba border. The total number of confirmed cases of covid-19 stands at 75 in Uganda. All 417 samples from the community were negative for covid-19. There are 46 covid-19 recoveries in Uganda.

Remember to wash your hands regularly and thoroughly with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. Also, continue to follow WHO guidelines on social distancing, keep at least 4 meters from the individual nearest to you.  We will keep you informed of any updates in the national and WHO guidelines as and when they arise.
