Agnes’s education background is in dentistry and hold a Master’s of International health from Senghor International University of Alexandria in Egypt and currently doing PhD in Public health at the University of Rwanda. Agnes is currently the Deputy Dean in charge of research and community engagement at the School of Dentistry at University of Rwanda where her roles include overseeing all research activities at the school and encourage new grant applications and community engagement partnership. She is a member of grading technical committee at the Rwanda Allied Health Professional Council. Agnes is also a member of Oral Health Technical working group at the Ministry of Health through Human Resource for Health where she actively contributed to the 5 years National Oral Health Strategic plan in Rwanda. She is the chairperson of Oral health promotion committee in collaboration with Dental Health without Boarders in Danemark_TUG/SoS Rwanda with aiming to advocate in promotion of a good oral health. She has been the Co-Principal Investigator for the first National Oral Health Survey in Rwanda and contributed to Science through research publications. Agnes research interest is on oral health and Non Communicable Diseases, HIV/AIDS, Nutrition etc. mainly probe the role of oral microbiome in periodontitis with systemic diseases.
