Sarah Hawi Ngere is a socio-behavioral scientist based in Kisumu, Kenya. She has a research experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and analysis. Sarah has conducted a qualitative study to assess acceptability of using PrEP among adolescent girls and young women, results that informed PrEP adoption into routine HIV prevention intervention. She is currently a socio- behavioral researcher for the Child Health and Mortality Prevention Surveillance to explore the feasibility, acceptability and practicality of conducting minimally invasive tissue sampling on children under the age of 5 years. Sarah has a bachelor of Arts, Sociology and Master of Public Health (Health promotion and international health)

Over the years Sarah’s interest has grown in behavioral sciences specifically to understand the decision processes and communication strategies within and between individuals and to nudge behavior change while understanding motivations and contexts to individual innate behavior. She has extensive knowledge and training in qualitative and quantitative research analysis and methodologies. Her research interest is to understand behavioral challenges that impede uptake of health interventions.  Her education and experience background gives her the niche to understand complex human behavior associated with uptake of health interventions.
